Versace Punk Style: Vunk

On March 2013. Versace published their new collection and it called “Vunk” (Versace Punk). Donatella Versace said the collection shows sexy, strong, brave and full of energy.  Donatella Versace used shiny white, black and red vinyls with an occasional fur clasp in the new collection. The new Versace woman is not to be crossed: long and very sharp-looking sliver or diamante spikes graced most outfits, worn as chokers or clasps, white extra large nails were used as earning or ornaments on dress.
The obvious feature was a fetish-inspired silver harness which stretched – spikes and all – from a choker at the neck down to the waist, with two belts running across chest and midriff, worn over punk t-shirt.

Vivienne Westwood, Mother of Punk

When we mention the punk brand, we always first think brand is Vivienne Westwood. Vivienne Westwood is a famous fashion brand in the world and she is credited with giving the punk rock movement of the 1970 its unique look.

Vivienne was born in English countryside to a humble family. Her childhood was for from the life she is living now in London. She said “I lived in a part of the country that had grown up in the industrial Revolution. I didn’t know about art galleries…I would never seen an art book, never been to the theatre”

By the 1971, she knew Malcolm of The Sex Pistols musicians and he leads her to London’s underground scene. The Sex Pistols was a famous punk bank in the 1970s. Vivienne design the punk dress for Malcolm’s band. She would become the seamstress of the new emerging Punk movement by the introduction of her early designs. Vivienne is credited with creating the Buffalo Girl style and the pirate-themed New Romantic movement in London’s fashion scene.



The new design ear for Westwood could be summed up in one word – pirates. It can along at the same time as new urban art scene was sweeping Europe, the New Romantics. Once again Vivienne gave a face to a movement, this time with pieces that drew inspiration from courtier costumes of the theater and whirls of Egyptian style eyeliner.



"Vivienne Westwood is an unbelievable influence," Anna Wintour, Vogue's Editor in Chief, told The New York Times.

People follow the favourite band style such as clothing, make-up and hairstyles. The punk hairstyles consisted of spiked hair, Mohawks, and elaborate coloured dry job. As the punk movement progressed, many people associated with the extreme fashion concepts within the punk movement, but other people began to follow more moderate approaches to the punk attitude.

The punk style of make-up



The punk style of make-up it looks like the dark, smoldering punk look with heavy black and pale foundation to give you that "barely alive" look. You need black eyeliner, black mascara; black, grey, pink and red eye shadow; blood red lipstick; light liquid base makeup and Japanese rice face powder.


The punk make-up has to a pale complexion. Use light liquid base make-up to cover your entire face, including your forehead and eyelids, with the base make-up. The purpose is you must be an unnaturally pale appearance.



Punk style of make-up don't add blush or colour on the face. If you want to increase the dramatic look, you can add some colour or some cool shadowing on the face. Using your index finger rub black eyeliner and drag it underneath your cheekbones to give your face a sunken in appearance.



Punk eyes shows dark, mysterious and brooding so people always use eye shadow to deepen their look. Many punks add dark eye shadow to the lids and just underneath the eye. The dark shadow with either a red of pink colour or add sliver or grey on the lid and under the eyebrow.

The punk t-shirts have diversity characteristics, though there are certain attributes that many such t-shirts have in common. Many shirts show names and images associated with various punk rock bands. Their fans liked to wear these t-shirt to proof loyally for the bands. In general, the punk t-shirts use the images of skulls and plaid patterns. There are also punk t-shirts made by using t-shirts not normally associated with punk music or lifestyle and altering them to create a punk aesthetic.
